Silver Rises as Dollar Weakens Amid Fed Rate Hike
The price of silver has risen due to a weaker dollar and softer oil prices. The precious metal settled 1.15% higher at ₹2,34,786. This increase in value is supported by a few factors: the Federal Reserve's decision to raise interest rates, persistent price pressures, and reduced concerns over Middle East supply disruptions.
The Federal Reserve raised its federal funds target range by 25 basis points to 3.75%-4.00% in September 2026, marking its first rate hike since 2023. This move is aimed at supporting a timely return toward the 2% inflation target.
US retail sales rose 1.2% month-on-month in August, and export prices increased 0.6%. Import prices climbed 0.7%, indicating persistent price pressures.
