Silver prices on the MCX closed at Rs 225,965.00 per kg on Wednesday, up 0.23 percent. This modest gain contrasts with gold's stronger rise.

The Nifty 50 fell by 0.42 percent to 22,620.45 in a mixed session where India VIX ticked up 0.60 percent to 13.49.

Univest analysts point out that the key drivers for Thursday's session will be crude oil prices and global cues, particularly the US Dollar Index, which has an inverse relationship with metal and bullion prices on MCX.
