The Sindh cabinet has increased the additional subsidy for wheat growers who supply to the provincial food department. The subsidy has been doubled from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 2,000 per maund.

The enhanced package could raise the government's total wheat support allocation to around Rs. 16 billion. The programme will cover growers who own up to 25 acres of land.

Under the approved plan, eligible farmers will receive a fixed subsidy to buy DAP fertiliser or an approved alternative. In addition, growers who deliver wheat to the food department will receive an extra subsidy based on the quantity they supply.
