Singapore Expands LNG Bunker Supplier Network with Eight New Licences
Singapore is expanding its roster of LNG bunker suppliers by awarding eight new five-year permits to eight firms. The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore picked the recipients, as detailed in the original report. These permits are set to expire on August 31, 2031.
The selected firms are Aramco Trading Singapore, Equatorial Marine Fuel Management Services, ExxonMobil Asia Pacific, PetroChina International Singapore, Shell Eastern Trading, Sinopec Fuel Oil Singapore, Vitol Bunkers, and a partnership between TotalEnergies Gas & Power Asia and Sembcorp Fuels.
The selection process also took into account each bidder's capacity to curb methane slip and offer lower-emission methane-derived fuels, such as liquefied biomethane and e-methane. Starting in August, Singapore will swap its current technical reference for LNG bunkering with a complete national standard.
