Singapore Hands Out Eight New LNG Bunkering Licences
Singapore's Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) has awarded eight new licences to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a marine fuel in Singapore. The licences will be issued from September 1, 2026, and are valid for five years until August 31, 2031.
The successful applicants include Aramco Trading Singapore, Equatorial Marine Fuel Management Services, ExxonMobil Asia Pacific, PetroChina International (Singapore), Shell Eastern Trading, Sinopec Fuel Oil (Singapore), TotalEnergies Gas & Power Asia (TEGPA)-Sembcorp Fuels (Singapore) Joint Venture, and Vitol Bunkers (S).
The evaluation process considered the applicants' supply capabilities, commercial plans, operational experience, and safety standards. The MPA also assessed their ability to monitor and mitigate methane slip and support the supply of alternative fuels with lower lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions.
