SJC Lowers Selling Price as World Gold Prices Rise to $4,074
Gold prices in Vietnam showed mixed movements on August 5, 2026. The State Treasury of Vietnam (SJC) lowered its selling price for gold bars to 140.5 million VND/ounce, while keeping the buying price at 137.5 million VND/ounce. Meanwhile, world gold prices rose by $22 to $4,074 per ounce.
The SJC's decision led to a narrowing of the buy-sell spread for gold bars at various businesses. DOJI and PNJ reduced their selling prices by 500,000 VND/ounce, while Phu Quy maintained its buying price but lowered its selling price. Bao Tin Minh Chau made a sharper adjustment, reducing both its buying and selling prices.
The prices of some gold rings increased, with DOJI's 9999 Hung Thinh Vuong round rings rising by 500,000 VND/ounce in both buying and selling prices. PNJ's plain gold ring group saw a notable trend, with an increase in the buying price but a significant decrease in the selling price.
