SK Shipping, H-Line Merge LNG Operations with $300M Deal
Korea's shipping industry is set for a major shake-up as SK Shipping Co. and H-Line Shipping Co., both owned by private equity firm Hahn & Co., agree to swap tankers and contracts.
The deal will create one of the world's largest operators of liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, with SK Shipping set to receive 16 LNG vessels and their long-term contracts from H-Line in exchange for 12 tankers, their contracts, and approximately $300 million in cash.
Hahn & Co. announced the deal in a statement on Thursday, August 12, 2026, marking a significant move in the global shipping market.
