Aker BP has achieved a major milestone in its Skarv Satellite Project (SSP), commencing production from three satellite fields in the Norwegian Sea. The project, which brings online Alve Nord, Idun Nord, and Ørn, was completed approximately one year ahead of schedule.

The Skarv Satellites are connected to the existing Skarv floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) facility through subsea templates and two wells. This approach allows for efficient utilization of infrastructure and extends the operating life of the wider production area.

Together, the three fields contain approximately 120 million barrels of oil equivalent in recoverable resources. Aker BP's portfolio of subsea tie-back projects sanctioned in 2022 has been completed safely, with strong cost management and schedules maintained at or ahead of expectations.
