SLB Lands Major Contracts from Aramco for Over 450 Wells in Saudi Arabia
SLB, an energy technology firm, has been awarded four integrated well construction contracts by Aramco to support oil and gas development across Saudi Arabia. The contracts cover over 450 wells across a three-year period, with an option for extension of up to two additional years.
The agreements will see SLB provide end-to-end well construction services through its integrated, technology-driven operating framework. This framework combines digital drilling workflows with automated drilling, evaluation, fluids, cementing, and completions services.
According to Steve Gassen, SLB's executive vice president of Geographies, the contracts demonstrate Aramco's trust in SLB's integrated model and capabilities. He noted that carrying out hundreds of wells over a multi-year program across multiple operating environments requires an integrated model that connects planning, execution, and digital workflows to establish new industry performance benchmarks.
SLB stated that its method is designed to enhance efficiency, consistency, and well performance across large-scale drilling programs operating in various environments. The contracts build on decades of cooperation between SLB and Aramco and represent a significant growth of SLB's integrated well construction activities within the Kingdom.
