The average price of gasoline in Los Angeles County rose to $6.387 on Saturday, just 10.6 cents shy of its record high set last October.

This marks the 39th consecutive day that prices have increased, with a total rise of 74.5 cents since July 24.

The current price is 20.3 cents higher than one week ago and $1.665 more than it was one year ago.

The average price in Orange County also rose to its highest amount since last October, reaching $6.369 with an increase of 8.9 cents from its record high.

According to the AAA, the volatility in the Strait of Hormuz and the high cost of crude oil are driving up pump prices.
