SoCal Gas Prices Keep Climbing as Crude Oil Prices Soar
The Southern California gas prices have been rising for 11 consecutive days, with the average price of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County increasing by 3.8 cents to $5.683 on Saturday.
This surge marks a total increase of 27.8 cents over the past 11 days, and is attributed to the rising crude oil prices caused by volatility along the Strait of Hormuz and instability in the region, which has pushed crude oil prices into the $90 per barrel range.
The average price of gas in Los Angeles County has risen $1.208 more than one year ago, while Orange County's average price has increased 98.7 cents since the joint U.S./Israel attack on Iran on February 28.
