Houthis Launch Missile Attack on Saudi Arabia Amid Escalating Middle East Tensions

The Houthi rebels in Yemen have launched a missile attack on Saudi Arabia in response to airstrikes on the strategic Red Sea city of Hodeida. The Houthis, backed by Iran, fired missiles and drones at facilities belonging to Aramco, the world's largest oil company, in the Red Sea cities of Yanbu and Jizan.

The attack comes after Saudi Arabia struck Hodeida, hitting a port and telecommunications corporation, injuring two people. The Houthis have threatened to close the Bab el-Mandeb Strait to Saudi-linked shipping if their demands are not met.

The escalation in the Middle East has raised concerns about global shipping routes, with around 12% of the world's trade passing through the narrow Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Iran's foreign minister called for diplomacy and dialogue to solve the Yemen conflict without military confrontations.
