State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and German company Securing Energy for Europe GmbH (SEFE) are expanding their cooperation in energy infrastructure, SOCAR announced on September 27. This move comes after a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two companies in June 2025, outlining their partnership in natural gas and LNG supply, joint development of energy infrastructure projects, investments in upstream projects, and strengthening energy security.

The agreement calls for SOCAR to supply gas volumes to SEFE in Europe, with annual supply volumes increasing gradually to 15 terawatt-hours (TWh), equivalent to approximately 1.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas. This expansion marks a significant step forward in the companies' cooperation, which is expected to have a positive impact on energy security and infrastructure development.
