South Korea Invests $54 Billion in Alaska Gas Pipeline Project
President Donald Trump announced plans for South Korea to invest $54 billion in an Alaska liquefied natural gas project. The project, which is expected to be completed in three years, will construct an 800-mile pipeline carrying natural gas from Alaska's North Slope to the southern part of the state for export to Asian markets.
When asked about constructing another oil refinery in Alaska to lower gasoline prices, Trump responded that gasoline prices in Alaska would 'tumble well' as soon as the war ends. He also mentioned that prices will come down due to this project and a couple of others in Alaska.
Trump plans to travel to Alaska in the weeks before the midterms to energize Republicans and help Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) win a third term in the U.S. Senate.
