Southeast Heat Wave Drives Natural Gas Prices Higher
Natural gas forward prices rose during the September 9-16 trading period as record heat in the month kept power burn running at summer levels across the South and limited storage injections to below seasonal norms.
According to Natural Gas Intel, the Southeast hubs saw their prices increase by more than 20 cents, while the Waha discount deepened by 22 cents. Power burn also ran 7 Bcf/d above 2025 levels.
