Southern Copper Stock Slumps Amid Weak Copper Prices and Labor Disputes
Southern Copper Corporation (SCCO) stock slipped 3.5 percent ahead of the open on September 24, 2026.
The decline came after a session on September 23, where SCCO traded between USD 199.00 and USD 206.21 on the NYSE.
Copper prices also weakened, with copper futures closing at a record USD 6.92 per pound on September 22, according to Mitrade.
The copper market is currently focused on supply developments, including union members at BHP's Escondida mine voting on a contract offer from September 28 through September 30, 2026.
