Soybean Crush Sets Record High as Demand Drives Up Production
The August soybean crush reached an all-time high, according to data from the USDA. A total of 210 million bushels of beans were used for meal and oil production, down 12 million from July but up 12 million from August 2025.
This increase in production pushed soybean meal stocks above year-ago levels, while soybean oil stocks declined due to strong demand.
The USDA also reported that 477.732 million bushels of corn were used for ethanol production in August 2026, a slight increase from July and 4% higher than August 2025.
