Soybean Market Pulls Back as Grains Remain Stable Amid Dollar Surge
The soybean market is experiencing a pullback from recent highs while grain prices remain stable, according to Pro Farmer's Ahead of the Open report. The US dollar index has surged by 250 points, and crude oil futures are trading modestly higher.
USDA reported daily export sales of 110,000 MT of soybeans for delivery to China during the 2026-27 marketing year.
The US is reopening its biggest port for Mexican live cattle shipments, which could ease domestic cattle shortages. The Santa Teresa port in New Mexico will reopen on September 24, after being closed due to concerns over the spread of the New World screwworm.
The Bank of Japan raised its key short-term rate by 25bps to 1.25% in a 7-2 vote at its September meeting. This decision comes after increased pressure from Washington, including calls for higher rates from US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
