Soybean Price Collapse Weighs on Grains Market
Corn prices fell sharply on September 28, 2026, as the soybean complex weighed heavily on the grains market. December corn futures dropped 5.25 cents to $5.23, near mid-range, due to profit-taking pressure and weak long liquidation. The U.S. dollar index reached a nearly three-month high, adding bearish pressure to corn prices.
The soybean market saw significant losses, with November soybeans plummeting 30.75 cents to $12.88.25, hitting a three-month low. December soybean meal lost $11.60 to $359.40, and December soybean oil fell 18 points to 67.66 cents, a four-week low.
The exclusion of soybeans from the tariff-reduction list jointly issued by China's commerce ministry and the White House was a major disappointment for traders. This move was seen as a significant blow to U.S. agricultural exports, particularly soybeans.
