Speculators Trim Gold Longs as Momentum Temporarily Cools Off

According to data from the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), large speculators in the gold market have reduced their bullish bets, indicating a cooling of momentum and potential consolidation.

The CFTC's non-commercial net positions for gold eased to 228.1k contracts, down from 243.3k in the prior report, marking a 6.2% decline.

This reduction in speculative interest suggests that we are entering a phase of short-term price consolidation rather than a bearish trend reversal.

Historically, similar pullbacks have preceded brief price corrections of 3% to 5% before the primary uptrend resumes.
