SSE Airtricity Slams the Brakes on Price Cuts

SSE Airtricity, a regulated natural gas supplier in Northern Ireland, will increase its prices by almost 19% from October 1st, 2026. This means that typical household bills will rise by £14 per month based on average consumption.

The price hike is attributed to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and resulting volatility in global energy markets, which has driven up wholesale gas prices.

In a statement, Stephen Gallagher, Managing Director of SSE Airtricity, acknowledged that this will be disappointing news for customers and recognized the continued concern over energy costs in Northern Ireland. He encouraged customers to contact the company for assistance with managing their bills.
