Stade Floating LNG Terminal Set for September Start

Germany is set to receive its fifth floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal, located in Stade. The Energos Force floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), operated by Deutsche Energy Terminal (DET), will commence operations in September.

The delivery of the first commissioning cargo is expected to take place in November, according to a spokesperson for DET. This is part of Germany's efforts to diversify its energy supplies after Russian pipeline deliveries were cut off in 2022.

Germany has struggled to fill gas storage this summer, with filling levels at 53.6 per cent. LNG imports will play a crucial role in meeting gas demand this winter.
