Stalled US-Iran Negotiations Fuel Global Inflation Fears as Gold and Silver Prices Soar
The US-Iran negotiations have stalled due to President Trump's demand for historical conflict compensation from Tehran, leading to significant volatility in precious metals. This development has crushed any immediate hope of reopening the Strait of Hormuz and driven up global oil prices, fueling fresh inflation fears.
Anxious investors are aggressively buying gold and silver as safe-haven assets, pushing local gold and silver prices sharply higher in Pakistan. The country's Sarafa markets have been adjusting prices to absorb these macroeconomic hits.
The international spot gold price is currently at $4,378.7 per troy ounce, while the spot silver price stands at $66.276 per troy ounce. Locally, the 24K gold price has reached Rs. 4,55,338 per tola, and the silver price has risen to Rs. 6,892 per kilogram.
