Stalled US-Iran Talks Send Gold and Silver Prices Soaring in Pakistan
The ongoing stalemate in US-Iran negotiations has sent shockwaves through global markets, causing significant volatility in precious metals. President Trump's demand for historical conflict compensation from Tehran has effectively frozen peace talks, crushing hopes of reopening the Strait of Hormuz. As a result, oil prices have spiked globally, fueling fears of fresh inflation.
Investors are flocking to gold and silver as safe-haven assets, pushing their prices higher in Pakistan's local markets. The Sarafa market has adjusted prices accordingly to absorb these macroeconomic shocks.
The current rates for gold and silver in Pakistan stand at Rs. 4,46,873 per tola, Rs. 3,83,128.10 for 10 grams, and Rs. 38,312.81 for 1 gram of gold. Silver prices have reached Rs. 6,695.73 per tola, Rs. 5,740.61 for 10 grams, and Rs. 574.061 for 1 gram.
