Stock Market Hits Record High as Inflation Slows Down
The US stock market continued its upward trend on Thursday, reaching an all-time high as inflation rates showed signs of slowing down.
According to a report by the Associated Press, the S&P 500 climbed 0.7% and surpassed its previous record set last week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 69 points, or 0.1%, and the Nasdaq composite gained 0.8%.
The easing of oil prices also contributed to the market's rise, with Brent crude falling 2.1% to $87.07 per barrel.
Analysts pointed out that lower interest rates could have a positive impact on the real-estate industry and housing market, as the average long-term US mortgage rate fell this week for the first time in six weeks.
