Stock Markets Waver Amid Crude Price Surge

The broader market is under pressure due to stronger crude oil prices, which are fueling inflation concerns and boosting bond yields.
The 10-year T-note yield has climbed to 5.00%, a +6 bp increase from yesterday's levels. European government bond yields have also risen, with the 10-year German bund yield up +4.6 bp to 3.523% and the 10-year UK gilt up +8.2 bp to 5.304%. The ECB's August CPI expectations rose to +3.0%, while Germany's August PPI increased by +1.1% m/m and +4.6% y/y.
Cybersecurity stocks are under pressure, with Cloudflare down over -5% and Palo Alto Networks down over -4%. However, chipmakers and AI-infrastructure stocks are climbing, with the iShares Semiconductor ETF up over +1% and SanDisk up over +6%.
