Stocks Rebound as Oil Prices Fall and Bond Market Pressure Eases
US stocks are rising Thursday after falling oil prices and easing pressure from the bond market helped Wall Street recover most of its losses for the week.
The S&P 500 climbed 1.1% and was on track for just its second rise in the last nine days, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 358 points, or 0.7%, as of 2:08 p.m. Eastern time.
Falling oil prices helped pull yields lower in the bond market and removed some pressure on stocks.
The yield on the 10-year Treasury fell to 4.95% from 5.01% late Wednesday, making borrowing more expensive for everyone.
Traders were initially concerned about the Federal Reserve's decision to raise interest rates, but Thursday's ease in yields offered some support.
