Stocks Stabilize Near Record High Amid Ongoing Oil Price Volatility
The U.S. stock market remained near its record high on Tuesday after oil prices briefly dipped below $98 per barrel.
The S&P 500 was almost unchanged, down less than 0.1%, and is now only 0.4% below its all-time high set last month.
Brent crude settled at $99.25 per barrel, a decline of 1.1% from the day before, but still significantly higher than its pre-war price of $72 per barrel.
AutoZone rose 3.3% after reporting stronger-than-expected profits for the quarter, while Thor Industries saw its stock climb 5.5% despite CEO Bob Martin's caution about expensive fuel and high interest rates affecting customer budgets.
