Stone X Analysts Predict Record-Breaking US Corn Crop Despite Late Summer Weather Disruptions
A recent forecast by Stone X analysts suggests that US corn and soybean yields may exceed expectations, potentially leading to a significant drop in prices following the release of the USDA's September balance sheet.
The Stone X experts' estimates for the 2026/27 crop year show an increase in soybean yields to 53 bushels per acre, compared to the average analyst estimate of 52.5 bushels per acre and the USDA August report of 52.7 bushels per acre.
Additionally, Stone X analysts predict a slight decrease in corn yields from 184.8 to 182.9 bushels per acre, which is still higher than the average analyst estimate of 178.2 bushels per acre and the USDA August report of 180.7 bushels per acre.
