Strait of Hormuz Attack Raises Fears Over Energy Supplies

A fresh attack on a ship in the Strait of Hormuz has raised concerns about energy supplies, following the shutdown of a vital oil pipeline in Saudi Arabia.

The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that a vessel had been struck by an unidentified munition in the strait, which is a critical chokepoint for global oil trade.

According to India's Ministry of External Affairs, 13 crew members were rescued from the MT El Gaia after it was attacked, but one sailor remains missing.

The Indian government condemned the attack and called for an immediate de-escalation of regional tensions, emphasizing that attacks on commercial shipping and civilian infrastructure are unacceptable.
