Supertanker Set Ablaze in Hormuz Strait Missile Attack
An oil supertanker was hit by a missile in the Strait of Hormuz, setting it ablaze eight kilometers off the coast of Oman, according to Iran's Fars news agency.
The attack is the latest in a series of incidents targeting vessels in the strait, with UK Maritime Trade Operations logging three separate incidents on Wednesday alone.
US President Donald Trump had previously rejected an Iranian proposal to reopen the strait, which has been a major chokepoint for global oil trade due to its narrow waters and critical shipping lanes.
