A suspected US missile attack on an Iranian oil tanker near Kharg Island has left no reported casualties, according to local sources.

The incident occurred off the coast of Kharg Island, a key hub for Iran's oil exports in the Persian Gulf. Multiple explosions were reported earlier Saturday near the island by Fars news agency, but there were no immediate signs of smoke and the source of the blasts remained unknown.

The crew of the damaged vessel was safely evacuated, according to Iranian media. The tanker is believed to have been hit by four projectiles as it unloaded cargo, Asr Iran reported.
