SVG Aims for Short Track Success at Iowa Speedway

Shane van Gisbergen is set to compete in his second NASCAR Cup Series start at Iowa Speedway this Sunday in the Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol. The driver, who was credited with a 31st-place finish last year after contact with the wall, is looking for improvement.

'It's about confidence,' said SVG, referencing their recent performance on short tracks. 'North Wilkesboro (short track) was a race that the metric helped us, but it also shows that if we can start up front, we can stay there.'

Van Gisbergen enters this weekend at Iowa 15th in the Cup Series driver standings, 57 points above The Chase cutline. He and his team are focusing on qualifying and making their cars better.
