Syria Boosts Oil Production by 14.8 Million Barrels in First Half of 2026
Syria's energy sector has seen significant growth in the first half of 2026, according to recent data from the Ministry of Energy. The ministry reported that the country produced 14.8 million barrels of crude oil and 1.429 billion cubic meters of raw natural gas during this period.
The ministry highlighted various efforts made to restore the sector's role in supporting the national economy and strengthening energy security, including increased production, infrastructure development, facility rehabilitation, and new avenues for investment and partnerships.
Significant developments include the removal of primitive burners in four governorates, the rehabilitation of the Al-Thawra Petroleum Center and Al-Bashri Station, and the return to operation of 152 wells. Additionally, 10 new wells were brought into production, and work reached a depth of 3,460 meters.
