Tanker Catches Fire Off Saudi Coast After Mysterious Strike
A tanker caught fire off the coast of Saudi Arabia after being hit by an unidentified projectile on Monday, according to the UKMTO.
The incident occurred about 63 nautical miles west of Yanbu, one of Saudi Arabia's key oil ports on the Red Sea. The crew was safe and accounted for with no reports of environmental impact.
This latest development follows a series of recent strikes in the region. Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi group has threatened Saudi-affiliated vessels and previously claimed attacks against installations run by Saudi oil giant Aramco located in Yanbu, including an alleged strike in July.
