A tanker ship was struck by an unidentified projectile while navigating through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical waterway for global energy supplies.
According to the UK's Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), no injuries were reported in the incident. The nationality of the vessel has not been disclosed.
The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow passage between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, accounting for approximately 20% of global oil supplies and around 25% of liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports.
