A Saudi Arabian oil tanker was struck by an unknown projectile off the coast of Yanbu, a major oil port on the Red Sea. The incident occurred 63 nautical miles west of Yanbu, according to the UKMTO (United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations).

Fortunately, all crew members were safe and accounted for with no reported environmental impact. This is not an isolated incident, as shipping from Yanbu has faced disruption since Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis declared a blockade on Saudi-linked vessels in the Red Sea last month.

The Houthis have carried out attacks on Saudi oil facilities and shipping in the Red Sea in recent weeks, claiming to have targeted Aramco facilities in Yanbu in July. The incident highlights the ongoing tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran-backed groups in the region.
