TAQA Arabia has signed an agreement with Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) and Africa50 to develop a small-scale liquefied natural gas project in Tanzania. The partners will invest in, develop, and operate the facility, which is expected to supply gas to the country's industrial, residential, and transport sectors.

The project aims to expand access to Tanzania's domestic gas resources and reduce reliance on more expensive and carbon-intensive fuels. Natural gas will be supplied by TPDC and liquefied at the facility before being transported via dedicated vehicles.

Commercial operations are targeted for 2027, subject to a final investment decision. The project represents an important step towards turning Tanzania's abundant gas resources into reliable energy for industry, communities, and transport.
