Tanzania has taken a major step in advancing its infrastructure development agenda through three agreements signed between African institutions and Tanzanian counterparts.

The agreements were inked during the Africa50 General Shareholders' Meeting and Infra for Africa Forum 2026, held in Dar es Salaam. The partnerships aim to strengthen healthcare, energy infrastructure, and industrial development in the country.

The first agreement was signed between Africa50 and the Ministry of Health to expand access to dialysis and renal care services across Tanzania. This partnership is expected to improve access to specialized treatment for patients with kidney diseases, bolster the capacity of the public health system, and support the country's efforts towards universal health coverage.

The second agreement was signed between Africa50 and TANESCO (Tanzania Electric Supply Company) to unlock private investment in electricity transmission projects through Public-Private Partnerships. This partnership will facilitate the development of transmission infrastructure needed to connect electricity generation with areas of growing demand, including industrial zones and other productive sectors.

The third agreement was signed between Africa50, TPDC (Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation), and Taka Arabia to pioneer the distribution of liquefied natural gas in Tanzania. This project is expected to promote the use of domestically produced natural gas in industries, strengthen energy security, reduce dependence on imported fuels, and lay the foundation for the country's larger LNG development plans.
