TC Energy Boosts North American Natural Gas Demand Forecast by 11 Billion Cubic Feet
TC Energy Corp., a Calgary-based pipeline operator, has revised its long-term outlook for North American natural gas consumption upward, citing strong demand driven by liquefied natural gas exports and industrial growth.
The company expects natural gas demand to expand by 51 billion cubic feet per day between 2025 and 2035, with nearly 70% of this growth concentrated in the U.S. heartland, Alberta, and Mexico.
TC Energy is evaluating how to deploy its pipeline network across Canada and the United States to meet the coming surge in demand, with a focus on regions where it has a strong incumbent position and significant existing infrastructure.
The company's pipeline network spans over 94,000 kilometers, carrying about 30% of the gas consumed across North America, and linking producers with utilities, industrial users, LNG terminals, and power plants.
