TC Energy Sells Mexican Pipeline for $560 Million
TC Energy Corp., based in Calgary, has agreed to sell its Guadalajara-Manzanillo pipeline in Mexico for $560 million. The pipeline spans 313 kilometers and can transport up to 500 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. According to TC Energy CEO François Poirier, the sale is part of the company's efforts to optimize its portfolio and create long-term value.
The sold pipeline connects imported liquefied natural gas near Manzanillo with continental gas supply near Guadalajara. It serves power plants and industrial customers in the states of Colima and Jalisco. TC Energy will retain ownership and operation of a broader Mexican natural gas pipeline network, including approximately 3,300 kilometers.
The deal is subject to customary closing conditions, regulatory approvals, and consents. It's expected to close in the first half of 2027.
