TCP Finalizes Wheat Import Deals Amid Revised Plan
The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has finalized deals for importing 365,000 metric tons of wheat to meet domestic consumption needs.
This comes after provinces scaled back their wheat import requirements, prompting TCP to reduce the total quantity to be imported from 750,000 metric tons to 550,000 metric tons as per the revised import target.
The first tender for importing 656,000 metric tons of wheat was opened on September 16, 2026, with nine bidders participating and submitting bids ranging from USD 348.83 to USD 369.95 per metric ton.
A lowest bid was submitted by Agrocorp for supplying 55,000 metric tons at USD 348.83 per metric ton, while the highest bid came from M/s Olam for supplying 55,000 metric tons at USD 369.95 per metric ton.
