TCP Receives Nine Bids for Wheat Import Amid Domestic Shortage Fears

The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has received nine bids for importing 656,000 metric tonnes of wheat against a tender quantity of 750,000 metric tonnes for domestic consumption.

Out of 13 parties that participated in the tender, two submitted regret letters and one was non-responsive. The remaining nine bidders were found technically and financially responsive.

The federal government had floated an international tender on September 8, 2026, to import around 750,000 metric tonnes of wheat due to expected low domestic production.

The lowest bid was submitted by M/s Agrocorp for a supply of 55,000 metric tonnes at USD 348.83 per metric tonne, while the highest bid was received from M/s Olam for 55,000 metric tonnes at USD 369.95 per metric tonnes.
