TCP Seeks Wheat Imports Amid Black Sea Export Halt

The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has received offers in its tender to purchase and import 185,000 tonnes of wheat. The lowest price offered was $339.36 a tonne, cost and freight included.

European traders believe that trading house Bunge submitted an offer for around 60,000 tonnes. TCP is still considering the offers and no purchase has been reported.

The tender comes at a challenging time for importers due to fighting in the Black Sea region, which has halted seaborne exports of cheap Russian and Ukrainian wheat. Supplies from alternative origins are more expensive.
