TDI-Brooks Selected to Conduct Geotechnical Survey Offshore Timor-Leste
TDI-Brooks has been chosen by Timor-Leste's Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MPRM) to conduct a geotechnical and environmental baseline survey across the country's waters. The company will be teaming up with Taka Hydrocore Indonesia (THI), and their DP2 research vessel Nautilus will be used for the initiative. The survey aims to gather essential data for pipeline routing, engineering design, and geohazard assessment related to offshore development activities.
The geotechnical portion of the survey will cover approximately 508 seabed tests, including gravity CPTs (gCPT), piston cores, box cores, and cyclic T-bar measurements. The environmental baseline study will involve gathering sediment samples and water samples at 16 provisional stations. Field operations are expected to commence in mid-January 2027.
The survey is a crucial step in the development of the TLNG project, which includes the Greater Sunrise field and the Bayu-Undan Pipeline Highway. The project aims to generate data that will aid in the routing of the gas export pipeline from the Greater Sunrise field to Natarbora on the south coast.
