Teck Resources Plunges 3.58% Despite Strong Copper Results
Teck Resources Limited Class A (TSX:TECK.A) declined 3.58% on August 14, 2026, despite releasing exceptionally strong second-quarter financial results.
The company reported a profit of C$854 million attributable to shareholders in Q2 2026, compared with C$206 million in the same period of 2025.
Adjusted profit attributable to shareholders reached approximately C$948 million, or C$1.93 per share, and adjusted EBITDA surged 204% to approximately C$2.2 billion, while the adjusted EBITDA margin reached a record 61%.
The company's copper production increased by about 25% year over year to 135,900 tonnes in Q2, with an average realized copper price of around US$6.05 per pound, compared with US$4.32 per pound a year earlier.
