Tehran Drivers Faced with Fuel Shortages and Long Lines

Gas shortages and long lines at fuel stations in Tehran have left drivers frustrated. The situation has been caused by a combination of factors, including US strikes on Iranian oil storage infrastructure, the US blockade, and fears of rising inflation.

Rumors of fuel shortages triggered panic buying, leading to temporary closures at some gas stations. Drivers reported long lines at petrol stations in both eastern and southern Tehran, as well as in more urban neighborhoods. Some social media users also reported diesel and gas shortages in other provinces, including Mazandaran and Fars.

The National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) has stated that the fuel supply chain remains stable, but acknowledges that damage to infrastructure during the war has created some constraints on distribution. The company expects the situation to resolve within a few days.
