Tennessee Gas Prices Fall One Penny Amid National Record-High Fuel Costs

Tennessee's average gas price has dropped by just one penny over the past week to $3.64 per gallon, according to AAA - The Auto Club Group. This is a seven-cent decrease from last month and an 88-cent increase compared to the same time last year.

The Tennessee Gas Price Average held steady despite a rise in crude oil prices, said Megan Cooper, spokeswoman for AAA - The Auto Club Group. However, if crude oil prices remain elevated, drivers may see more upward pressure on pump prices over the coming week.

National gas prices have also increased, rising by 3 cents from last week to $4.09 per gallon. This is the highest August average on record for the country, surpassing the $3.97 average seen in 2022.
