Texas Oil and Gas Production Dips to 121 Million Barrels in July
The Texas Railroad Commission (RRC) released its latest report on statewide and county crude oil and natural gas production for July 2026. According to the data, there were 154,978 oil wells and 82,624 gas wells in operation during this period.
The preliminary total Texas reported production for July 2026 was approximately 121 million barrels of crude oil and 1.09 trillion cubic feet of total gas. In comparison, the updated total reported production for July 2025 was around 149 million barrels of crude oil and 1.17 trillion cubic feet of total gas.
The RRC also reports that crude oil production is limited to oil produced from oil leases and does not include condensate, which is reported separately by the commission.
