Three Injured in Attacks on Saudi Arabian Airports Houthis Claim Responsibility
Attacks on two airports in southern Saudi Arabia left three people with minor injuries. The strikes hit King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jazan and Najran International Airport. Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation confirmed the incidents and stated that emergency services responded swiftly. The injured individuals received medical care at a nearby hospital.
Material damage was also reported, and authorities are working to assess its extent. The aviation authority emphasized efforts to ensure the safety of passengers, employees, and the kingdom’s civil aviation system.
While Saudi authorities did not immediately claim responsibility, Yemen’s Houthis took credit for the attacks. The group said it launched missile and drone strikes on multiple targets in Saudi Arabia, including the two airports, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Abha Airport, an Aramco oil refinery in Rabigh, and military facilities. The Houthis described the targeted locations as "sensitive."
Saudi Arabia condemned the attacks, accusing the Houthis of military escalation and targeting civilian and economic facilities.
